Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Manager - Hydrologist include:

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive hydrological surveys, watershed assessments, and spring recharge studies.

  • Utilizing advanced techniques such as DEM, slope, drainage, and landform data to delineate watersheds and spring sheds.

  • Monitoring spring discharge, seasonal flow variations, and groundwater levels to gain a holistic understanding of water resources.

  • Analyzing rainfall-runoff relationships, water balance, and aquifer recharge capacity.

  • Identifying and recommending site-specific water conservation and recharge structures.

  • Collaborating effectively with GIS analysts, ecologists, and field teams for integrated landscape planning.

  • Training field staff in data collection, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols, and community-based monitoring.

  • Liaising with government agencies, community stakeholders, and local institutions to foster collaborative partnerships.

  • Contributing to policy inputs, funding proposals, and knowledge dissemination to broaden the impact of the project.

  • Providing technical input for planning spring rejuvenation and agroforestry integration.

  • Conducting training sessions on spring monitoring and data interpretation.

Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate:

IORA Ecological Solutions is seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong academic background and practical experience. Applicants should possess:

  • An M.Sc./M.Tech. in Hydrology, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or Geosciences.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.

  • Proficiency in field instruments, hydro-modeling tools, and GIS platforms (QGIS/ArcGIS).
