PETA India is searching for a dedicated and driven Cruelty Response Coordinator to join their team in either Mumbai or Delhi. This full-time position is an incredible opportunity to be on the front lines of animal protection, working directly to assist animals in need and enforce animal-cruelty laws across India.

What the Role Entails

As a Cruelty Response Coordinator, you'll be a vital part of the Cruelty Response Team (CRT). Your primary goal will be to handle cases of animal cruelty, ensuring that complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to complaints: You'll be the first point of contact for cruelty-case calls and complaints received via email, phone, and social media, ensuring each one is handled with care and efficiency.

  • Working with authorities: You'll coordinate with local animal protection organizations, volunteers, and law enforcement, including the police and the forest department, to file official reports and ensure legal action is taken. This may involve independent travel to different locations.

  • Empowering the public: You'll guide members of the public on how they can assist in cases of animal cruelty, helping to build a more compassionate community.

  • Maintaining records: You'll be responsible for keeping a national database of volunteers and law enforcement contacts updated and meticulously tracking all incoming complaints and their resolutions.

  • Representing PETA India: You'll act as a professional and compassionate representative of PETA India to the public, government agencies, and other organizations.

The work is dynamic and rewarding, with a schedule that will include daytime, evening, and weekend hours to ensure a timely response to every case.

Who PETA India is Looking For

To be a successful candidate for this role, you'll need more than just a love for animals. PETA India is seeking a highly organized and self-driven individual who is passionate about facilitating law enforcement work and preventing cruelty.

Key qualifications include:

  • Educational background: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Experience: Prior voluntary or professional experience handling animal-cruelty cases is essential.

  • Language skills: Fluency in both Hindi and English is a must, with knowledge of other local Indian languages being a significant advantage.

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical for interacting with the public, volunteers, and officials.

  • Personal commitment: A strong commitment to PETA India's philosophy and a vegan lifestyle is a core requirement for this position.

  • Travel readiness: The ability and willingness to travel independently to handle cruelty cases is necessary.

This position is a unique opportunity to turn your compassion for animals into a career with a global leader in animal rights. If you're ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals, consider applying.
