A comprehensive project in the Yadgir and Raichur districts of Karnataka is working to boost the incomes of small-scale farmers in the livestock sector, with a primary focus on empowering women. This initiative, led by Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN), employs a holistic "end-to-end" strategy, covering everything from production to market entry. The project provides integrated support, including access to services, credit, and training in best practices, along with better market linkages.
At the heart of the project's structure are two key institutional levels: village-level Livestock Producer Groups (LPGs) and cluster-level Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs).
Seeking an Expert in Communication and MEL
PRADAN is currently hiring an
Expert (Communication and MEL) to join this impactful project. This role is a one-year contractual position based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with a salary ranging from Rs 1,25,000 to Rs 1,50,000, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for communications within the development sector.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Content and Knowledge Creation: Producing high-quality, visually appealing content to engage stakeholders such as donors and government agencies. This includes developing educational materials for livestock farmers and creating marketing collateral like brochures, flyers, and training manuals.
Storytelling and Documentation: Systematically collecting and documenting field-level success stories to compile a compendium of change.
Data Analysis: Analyzing project data using MIS and other software to create data-driven infographics and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Communication Support: Preparing professional presentations and translating content between English and Kannada.
Training and Stakeholder Engagement: Assisting in the design of training sessions and building positive working relationships with government agencies and other stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a minimum of 16 years of education, including a Master's degree in English Literature, Mass Communication, or a Social Science discipline. A consistent academic record with at least 60% marks is required.
Candidates should have 4-5 years of relevant professional experience, with a preference for those who have worked in media, publishing, editing, or with civil society organizations (CSOs). Strong writing, verbal communication, and storytelling skills are essential, as is a proven track record of publishing articles or project reports. Fluency in a local language of Karnataka and English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of Hindi is an advantage. Familiarity with design software like Adobe Photoshop or InDesign is also a plus. The role requires frequent travel to project locations in Karnataka.
