The Role: Finance Manager — Strategy Meets Compliance
TCF is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to take end-to-end ownership of finance and accounting for the foundation and its select portfolio entities. This role is a critical blend of operational excellence and strategic finance, requiring a leader who can ensure full compliance while providing sharp decision support to the CEO and leadership.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be instrumental in building and scaling seamless processes, managing both internal teams and external partners, and delivering timely, insight-rich financial reporting that informs major board and CEO-level decisions.
Key Responsibilities Highlighted:
The Finance Manager will operate across four major domains:
End-to-End Finance Ownership: Leading full-cycle accounting (GL, AP, AR, treasury, payroll, fixed assets, etc.), institutionalizing controls, and preparing accurate, timely MIS and board decks with analysis on trends and unit economics.
Strategy, Planning, and Decision Support: Owning budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial modeling (FP&A). The role involves partnering with leadership on resource allocation, cost optimization, and evaluating key vendor/commercial agreements.
Compliance and Governance (Section 8 Focus): Ensuring rigorous compliance for Section 8 companies under the Companies Act, Income Tax (including 12AB/80G maintenance), and all applicable tax and regulatory laws. Expertise in FCRA compliance is highly preferred, as is the stewardship of clean statutory and grant audits.
Stakeholder Management: Acting as a trusted partner and communicating financial insights clearly to diverse stakeholders, including the CEO, Board, donors, auditors, and heads of portfolio organizations.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
10-15 years of post-qualification experience in controllership and business finance, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership, particularly in multi-entity or nonprofit/Section 8 environments.
Strong command of compliance for Section 8 companies, Income Tax (12AB/80G), and grant/grantee fiscal compliance. FCRA exposure is a significant plus.
Proven stakeholder management with senior leadership, boards, donors, and regulators.
Exceptional strategic thinking, FP&A skills, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to build processes and teams from scratch and leverage technology/ERPs for automation and process excellence.
