The Role: Finance Officer

This junior to mid-level position reports directly to the Head of Finance and plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. The Finance Officer will be the backbone of the finance department, ensuring smooth and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Comprehensive Accounting & Bookkeeping: The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounts, including handling cash, bank, and journal entries. A core responsibility is maintaining a robust double-entry bookkeeping system and meticulously managing separate accounts for FCRA and local funds, ensuring all vouchers and bills are properly documented.

  • Donor Fund Management and Reporting: You will be instrumental in supporting donor relations by assisting in the preparation of detailed financial reports, including budget vs. actuals analysis. This involves tracking project expenses against budgets and maintaining schedules for fund disbursement and utilization reports.

  • Banking and Timely Payments: The role includes managing all banking transactions, processing fund transfers, performing bank reconciliations, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and staff with accurate documentation.

  • Statutory and Financial Compliance: A key aspect of this position is to support compliance efforts. You will assist in preparing documentation for FCRA filings and audits, manage payroll processing, handle TDS deductions, and ensure adherence to PF/ESI and other statutory requirements.

Who We Are Looking For

NLR India Foundation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who meets the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: A Bachelor's (B.Com) or Master's (M.Com) degree in Commerce.

  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on accounting experience, specifically within an NGO or non-profit environment.

  • Essential Skills:

    • Proven knowledge of FCRA fund accounting and donor reporting is highly preferred.

    • Proficiency in accounting software like Tally and a strong command of MS Excel.

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
