SHAPE India (Social and Humanitarian Action for Promoting Education in India), a respected national non-profit, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to spearhead its initiatives from the Chembur, Mumbai office. This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to lead critical programs that empower children, women, and vulnerable communities across the region.
Since its founding in 2001 by a group of dedicated social workers, SHAPE India has grown to serve over 75,000 beneficiaries across six states. The organization's mission focuses on key areas like child rights, education, health, and empowerment, and it is now looking for a leader to drive its Targeted Intervention (TI) Project in Maharashtra.
A Leadership Role with Real-World Impact
As the Project Manager, you will be the linchpin connecting the project team, funding agencies, and government departments. Your primary mission will be to ensure the project meets its targets and operates smoothly under the guidelines of NACO and NACP-V. The role is hands-on and requires you to be in the field for 10-15 days a month, supervising staff and building rapport with the communities you serve.
Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Program Management: Taking full ownership of the TI Project, from organizing weekly team meetings to driving progress towards project deliverables.
Building Connections: Forging strong linkages with government bodies and other referral services to maximize the project's reach and impact.
Data-Driven Reporting: Conducting data analysis and preparing essential monthly reports for both internal review and external stakeholders.
Team Development: Assessing staff training needs and organizing capacity-building sessions to ensure your team is equipped for success.
Who We're Looking For
We need a proactive leader with a passion for social change. You should hold a Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences/Social Work with at least one year of relevant experience, or a Graduate degree in the same field with a minimum of three years of experience. Your background should ideally include work in health, livelihood, rural development, microfinance, or HIV/AIDS programs.
Crucial skills for this role include strong communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to analyze data and craft compelling reports and case studies. You'll need to be an effective team player with excellent overall management capacity.
The position offers a salary of ₹21,000 per month, plus a travel allowance of ₹1,400.
