Empowering the Future: CSA is Hiring a Senior Program Officer (Aftercare) in Goa

The transition from childhood to adulthood is a milestone filled with excitement, but for young adults living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs), it can be a period of immense uncertainty. Catalysts for Social Action (CSA) is on a mission to change that narrative, ensuring every child has the opportunity for a bright, independent future.

If you are a social work professional with a heart for youth empowerment, an exciting opportunity awaits: CSA is currently seeking a Senior Program Officer – Aftercare to lead operations in Goa.

Why "Aftercare" Matters

When youth "age out" of institutional care, they often face a "cliff" where support suddenly disappears. Aftercare programs are the safety net that bridge this gap, providing the vocational training, emotional mentoring, and career guidance necessary for sustainable, independent living. As a Senior Program Officer, you won't just be managing a program; you will be a lifeline for care leavers.

Key Responsibilities: Making a Tangible Impact

The role is dynamic, combining strategic planning with hands-on field engagement. Key duties include:

  • Program Implementation: Monitoring Aftercare activities across allied CCIs to ensure high-quality support.

  • Mentorship & Advocacy: Working directly with young adults to prepare them for life outside the institution.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Building vital bridges between CCI trustees, government bodies, NGOs, and training institutes.

  • Data & Budget Management: Tracking qualitative and quantitative program data while managing day-to-day budgets and vendor relations.

  • Field Presence: Conducting regular visits to CCIs to provide on-ground support and maintain detailed case files.

Who is the Ideal Candidate?

CSA is looking for a field-oriented professional who is ready to be a "Catalyst for Change." To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW).

  • Proven Experience: 2–3 years of experience in the social sector, with a strong preference for those who have worked in Child Protection.

  • Linguistic Skills: Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Konkani is essential for effective communication within the Goa community.

  • Technical Savvy: Comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data tracking and reporting.

  • Personal Attributes: Strong mentoring skills, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine passion for youth development.
